…Vice President-Elect, Senator Kashim Shettima Gets GCON
The President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, has conferred the highest national honour on President-elect Bola Tinubu.
Buhari, also conferred on Senator Kashim Shettima, the vice-president-elect the second highest national honour.
The former Lagos governor, now President-elect, was conferred with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (GCFR) while Senator Kashim Shettima was honoured with the Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON).

The investiture ceremony took place on Thursday at the state house in Abuja.
The event also marked the official handover of transition documents from Buhari to Tinubu.
During the event, the President, Muhammadu Buhari, said he is confident that Nigeria is in capable hands.
Buhari added that, he has run a good race while calling on Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to forget that leadership comes with responsibility.

Tinubu will be sworn into office on May 29 at Eagle Square in Abuja.
