The annual Muslims festival symbolically reminds us of the need for total submission and obedience to the will of Allah and the need for us to reinvigorate our spirit of sacrifices.
It is on this note that Lawyer Tunde Seriki, Lagos Civil Service Commissioner, has enjoined all Muslims to celebrate the festivity with caution and carefulness.
He expressed satisfaction in this year celebration, saying that Nigerians celebrated this year festival in a low key amidst the high cost of fuel and other economic factors.
Seriki said that the economic policy of President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the restructuring tenet would transform Nigeria totally and place Nigeria in a world map as one of the best economy country in the world.
He said that he has know doubt in President Bola Ahmed Tinubu action policy, because he has done it before in Lagos state turning the state to a mega city, sure, he will do same in capital city.
The commissioner expressed optimism in the second term tenure of Gov. Babajide Sanwo-Olu, adding that, Lagosians would experience total mutation across the sector.
Similarly, Hon. Ahmed Seriki-Bamu, Commissioner, Local Government Service Commission, felicitates with Muslim community in Nigeria and across the world on the occasion of Ei-il-Adha(Festival of Sacrifice) of the year 1444/2023.
“This resonates with the philosophy and essence behind the sacrifice of animals for submissiveness as He declares that.
“Their flesh reaches not Allah, nor does their blood, but it is your righteousness that reaches Him. Thus, has He subjected them to you, that you may glorify Allah for His guiding you. And give glad tidings to those who do good.” (Qur’an, 22:38).
“Firstly, it is a special mercy of Allah that He keeps reminding us that we have no choice in having to willfully submit to Him as the rams sacrificed have no choice in submitting to us. Not the flesh, not the blood but the total submission is what is needed.
“This is one of the most compelling messages in this verse. If this symbol of submission is not there for remembrance, it would have been confined to literature and possibly history without current values, ” he said.
Seriki-Bamu expressed appreciation to Epe residents and to all Lagosians for voting in Gov. Sanwo-Olu for the second term as Lagos State Governor.
“I am very hopeful that Lagos city will witness a tremendous infrastructure development in this second term.
“Gov. Sanwo-Olu will consolidate on his first term achievement to better this present administration, ” he said.
He urged Gov. Sanwo-Olu to lure both local and foreign investors into Epe Division, adding that the ancient city lacks industries and commercial companies.
“We need industry and companies in Epe to create employment opportunity for the unemployed youths in the Division.
“The synergy between the federal and Lagos state will favour the economy growth of Lagos city because of same APC party transformation agenda and alignment,” he said.
