The 23rd National Sports Festival is set to make history with a record-breaking sponsorship investment, thanks to the support of corporate giants PremiumTrust Bank and BetKing.
The agreement was announced at a high-level meeting in Enugu, where the Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Hon. Bukola Olopade, and Enugu State Governor Peter Mbah, met with the Managing Directors of the two companies.
PremiumTrust Bank has emerged as the headline sponsor of the 2026 Games, while BetKing has committed as a major sponsor. This development underscores the private sector’s growing confidence in Nigeria’s sports ecosystem.
The NSC DG, Hon. Bukola Olopade, stated that the agreements reflect the President Tinubu administration’s drive to reposition sports as a vital part of national development. “This is a turning point for Nigerian sports,” he said. “We are witnessing the real impact of the Renewed Hope agenda.”
The festival, set to be hosted by Enugu State in 2026, is expected to boost job creation, youth engagement, and infrastructure investment. PremiumTrust Bank’s return as headline sponsor solidifies its role in promoting grassroots and elite sports in Nigeria.
The NSC’s new leadership, under Mallam Shehu Dikko and Hon. Bukola Olopade, has aggressively pursued President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s vision of sports as a core pillar in Nigeria’s economic renewal strategy.
