Lagos grassroots station Miliki 101.3 FM marked its fourth year on air on Tuesday with recognition and cash prizes for its most dedicated listeners at a reception held at its Ojodu-Abiodun, Lagos office.
The station honored the winners of its annual Best Caller Award. Mrs. Oluwafunmilola Anike Salami emerged first, while Oluwafunmilayo Oba and Oluwafunmilayo Onafuwa Julius took second and third positions respectively.
Speaking at the event, Chairman and CEO of Miliki FM, Chief Henry Ajomale, said listeners and callers from around the world have kept the station’s vision alive since 2022.
“Listeners and callers around the globe have kept the Miliki dream alive for the past four years,” Ajomale said. He was joined by his wife, Adetoun, and son, Hon. Ladi Ajomale.
He also commended the station’s staff for their commitment, which he said has helped Miliki FM sustain its reputation as Oba Ori Afefe, meaning King of the Airwaves.
President of the Miliki Radio Fans Club, Mr. Sanni Adegbenga Taofik, said the award tradition began at the station’s first anniversary to appreciate loyal listeners.
“Four years ago, Miliki Radio came on air with a promise to entertain, inform and connect with the people, especially at the grassroots, and to preserve Yoruba heritage by promoting its culture. Today, that promise has become a movement,” Taofik said.
“As fans, we can boldly say that Miliki Radio is not just a station on the dial. It is a family. Your programs, your music, your news and your community engagement have made Miliki Radio 101.3 FM not only the heartbeat of Lagos and Ogun States, but of the world at large, as I can testify that many listen to Miliki via the internet.”
Other dignitaries at the colourful ceremony included Otunba Jide Oni, Chairman of Isolo LCDA; Otunba Adebayo Olasoju; and Hon Taoheed Adebayo Taiwo, Chairman of Ejigbo LCDA.
Miliki 101.3 FM, known for its Yoruba-focused programming, says it remains committed to grassroots engagement, cultural preservation, and community service as it enters its fifth year.
