The Nigeria Scrabble Federation (NSF) has announced the four-member team representing Nigeria at the World Youth Scrabble Championships in Malaysia.
The team, tagged “Prepared to Conquer,” will be captained by Abdulqudus Olawale Aliu.
Team Members include captain Abdulqudus Olawale Aliu (multiple gold medal winner at National Youth Games). Prestige Archibong (U-19 winner at African Youth Scrabble Championships in Kenya). Sophia Ebube Ekeruche (U-15 winner at African Youth Scrabble Championships in Kenya). Joy Eberechukwu Nwabuzor (key member at African Youth Scrabble Championships).
The NSF selected the team based on experience, track record, current form, and ability to navigate big championships.
However, the team’s participation is uncertain due to a lack of funds for the trip to Malaysia.
The NSF is appealing for support from individuals, state governments, and corporate bodies to enable Team Nigeria’s attendance at the World Youth Scrabble Championships.
The World Youth Scrabble Championships will take place from August 30 to September 1, 2025, in Malaysia.
