…As Well As 192 Rounds of Live Ammunition
The Nigeria Police Force has recorded significant successes in its fight against violent crimes, neutralizing four notorious kidnappers and recovering a substantial cache of arms and ammunition in operations conducted on April 10, 2025.
Delta State Operation
In Delta State, police operatives attached to the Delta State Command carried out a sting operation, arresting Abubakar Usman, alias “Shehu,” identified as the ringleader of a kidnapping syndicate. Upon interrogation, Usman confessed to multiple crimes, including:
– Kidnapping a medical doctor in Issele-Uku
– Kidnapping and murdering the wife and daughter of Mr. Godwin Anuka in Ogwashi-Uku
– Kidnapping and murdering Ms. Esther Ojoh in Ibusa
The suspect led operatives to the gang’s hideout, where four members were neutralized in a gun duel, and the following items were recovered:
– 3 AK-47 rifles
– 90 rounds of live ammunition
Kano State Operation
In Kano State, police operatives arrested three suspects:
– Abdul Sadiq, 43
– Ahmad Muazu, 22
– Aliyu Sharif, 40
The operation resulted in the recovery of:
– 15 locally fabricated revolver rifles
– 102 live cartridges
– 6 expended cartridges
Police Commendation and Assurance
Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, commended the bravery and professionalism of the operatives involved in the operations. He reassured the public that the Force remains committed to curbing violent crimes that threaten national peace and security.
Efforts are ongoing to locate the factory producing the illegal arms and arrest other suspects linked to the criminal network.
