In what was an intense match Enyimba Football Club have been crowned champions of the NPFL for the 9th time in their history.

The new champions coached by ex-international Finidi George, will be joined by Remo Stars FC of Ikenne, as Nigeria’s representatives in the CAF Champions League.
Last season’s champions Rivers United will participate in the CAF Confederation’s Cup alongside winners of this year’s FA Cup, popularly known as the Federation Cup. The FA Cup final is between Bendel Insurance of Benin and Rangers International of Enugu.
