The Permanent Secretary, Nasarawa State Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, Barr. Isaac Danladi, on Thursday, received the leadership of the Community Football Foundation, Nasarawa State Chapter, at his office in Lafia.
The team comprised the National Facilitator and ex Nigerian international footballer, Austin Popo, Nasarawa State Coordinator, Abel Leonard, among others.
In his welcome address, the Permanent Secretary thanked the team for the visit.
He disclosed that he and the National Facilitator had crossed paths at different fora and acknowledged his values in the society, sports-wise.
Danladi assured the delegation of a seamless working relationship on activities that would be mutually beneficial to both parties.
He noted that Governor Abdullahi Sule is a youth and sports-loving Governor who knows so much about the sector, and would support any cause that would aid the development of the sector and its stakeholders to higher heights.
Speaking earlier on behalf of the delegation, Austin Popo said they were at the Ministry to congratulate Danladi on his appointment as Permanent Secretary and later posting to the Organisation.
The former Secretary of the Players’ Union, Nigeria, now Secretary of the body’s Board of Trustees, explained that the visit was also to familiarize themselves with the Ministry and seek strategic partnerships to deliver the CFF’s ownership projects in the State, particularly the fast-approaching seminar on the Roles of Local Government Areas and Traditional Institution on Community Football Development and a Grassroots Football Tournament for Community Teams, with a workshop in between.
Popo described the appointment of Danladi as one of the best decisions taken by Governor Abdullahi Sule, noting that the Permanent Secretary was the right man for the job and had no doubt on his ability to discharge his duties excellently.
