Nigeria’s high jump record holder, Temitope Adeshina, will sponsor the women’s high jump event at the Athletic Heat 10th Anniversary Meet as part of efforts to support emerging athletes.
The meet is scheduled for Saturday, November 7, 2026, at the YabaTech Stadium in Lagos, under the theme, “10 Years of Impact. A Legacy That Keeps Running.”
Under the sponsorship, a total prize purse of ₦200,000 will be up for grabs for the top four finishers in the women’s high jump. The winner will receive ₦100,000, second place ₦50,000, third place ₦30,000 and fourth place ₦20,000.
Adeshina’s gesture comes on the back of an impressive 2026 season in which she won both the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor High Jump titles for Texas Tech Track & Field.
A Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and two-time African Championships silver medallist, Adeshina has continued to distinguish herself on the international stage while inspiring a new generation of athletes.
According to the organisers, her sponsorship reflects a commitment to giving back to the sport and creating opportunities for upcoming athletes to showcase their talents.
The initiative also forms part of activities marking Athletic Heat’s decade-long contribution to athletics development and the nurturing of emerging talents in Nigeria.
Athletes interested in participating in the anniversary meet have been encouraged to register through A3 Tickets.
