The incumbent Executive Chairman of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government, Otunba Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, has been re-elected for a second term with a landslide victory, polling 64,300 votes in the just-concluded local government elections.
This represents a significant increase from the 21,000 votes he garnered in his first-term bid.
In a statement, the chairman expressed his gratitude to the electorate and stakeholders, saying, “With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I sincerely thank the good people of Oshodi-Isolo Local Government for the overwhelming support and resounding mandate given to us at the just concluded local government elections.”
Otunba Oloyede dedicated the historic win to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, acknowledging the pivotal role of the Federal Government in empowering local governments. “I wholeheartedly dedicate this historic victory to our leader and President, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, whose renewed hope agenda and commitment to grassroots development through improved allocations to local governments made it possible for us to deliver numerous people-oriented projects,” he said.
The chairman also thanked party members, support groups, and campaign committees for their tireless efforts throughout the election season. He expressed optimism for a fruitful working relationship with the incoming councillors and reaffirmed his commitment to progress and service delivery.
With the new mandate, Otunba Oloyede emphasized that he would re-dedicate himself to the people with service, marking a new chapter in the local government’s development journey.
