A New Dawn For Talent Discovery In football In Nasarawa State.
The maiden edition of the Nasarawa State U-13 Inter-Primary School Boys’ Football Championship kickstarts on Monday, 22nd May, 2023, with each Local Government Area of the State presenting one team to ignite hostility.
According to the organisers all participating teams shall converge on Lafia, the State Capital, where the competition shall take place at two different venues: Gov’t Science School Football Field, behind UBA, and Sports Complex, Federal University, Makurdi Road, Lafia.
Adding that rich solid and liquid mineral deposits have been discovered in the State. And it’s time to discover the likes of King Osanga, Sunusi Ibrahim, Daniel Amokachi, Austin J.J. Okocha, Victor Osimhen, Ahmed Musa, Vincent Enyeama, Rashidi Yekini, Cristiano Ronaldo, Diego Maradona, and Lionel Messi, among others.
The organising committee call on all and sundry to support their Local Government Area to present the best squad at the Championship. Opining that any of the Local Government Area could just be the first winners of the competition with lots of mouthwatering prizes up for grabs.
The Championship is also to mark this year’s International Children’s Day Celebration and Swearing-in/Inauguration of Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule for a 2nd Term in Office as Executive Governor.
His Excellency, Engr. Abdullahi A. Sule, who has already endorsed the Championship, will lead the State Government’s delegation to both the opening and closing ceremonies of the competition.
This programme is the brainchild of the Aliyu Bello Charity Foundation in collaboration with the Nasarawa State Ministry of Education, Ministry of Local Government, Community Development & Chieftaincy Affairs, Ministry of Youth and Sports Development, and Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, NSUBEB.
